Learning how to learn...

Styles

Everybody has their own way to learn, some enjoy more to watch a collage of images that explain a topic than reading a whole text about it. Some others just need a quick but direct explanation than a long and repetitive talk about the same topic.

In my case, talking first about the way I ''get'' the principal ideas, it seems that I'm a reflective person. In other words that mean that I prefer to think first than act. Maybe that's a good thing or maybe not...
Then on the second line on the image that you can see below, it says that I'm more a sensitive learner what it means that even I work slower than the rest I do it carefully. It's better explain on the next line that I get from the site Ncsu.edu
  • Sensors tend to be more practical and careful than intuitors; intuitors tend to work faster and to be more innovative than sensors.
The next line that shows what kind of learner I am, says that I'm more a visual person than a verbal, what is true. I will always prefer to see a video or a graphic than a essay.
Finally, on the last category it shows that I could be considered a global learner than a sequential, quoting the site again:
  • Global learners tend to learn in large jumps, absorbing material almost randomly without seeing connections, and then suddenly "getting it."
After what I read (and answer) I see that I don't even understand how my brain works, some topics are easily for me to understand, but for some reason there are some others that needs more attention and obviously more ''work'' to do. In my case, I need a really good and patient teacher for subjects like maths or statics,..

  1. Nice reflection! I wish I'd had a good and patient teacher in those subjects, too.

Differences between cultures...

Mexican & German people... On this post, I will be talking about the principal differences that I have found between Mexican and German people, especially on food habits.  To start I must say, that I can talk about German habits because my brother and his German girlfriend lived with my parents and me, for some months. So said that, I noticed that they, or at least my brother's girlfriend, like to drink strong coffee on the mornings meanwhile they are on their computers. But let's be honest, we all want (and need) some caffeine at the morning. The point here is that, like some people here in Mexico, she doesn't add anything else than a lot of coffee spoons on her cup. The other habit that I've noticed is that they really (really) enjoy hard bread with dried fruits on it. If she didn't buy a German box bread, she was baking one. One day, she was making a birthday cake for me; at the beginning it looks really good, but when she finished the whole thing was ...

Mock Exam

The First Exam... Today I decided was the day to do an exercise that I almost forgot our english teacher leave us a week ago. I have to say that I haven't done this because I have lots and lots of homework, a lot of readings to be exactly , but yeah... the point here is that on this entry I'll be showing the making process of my mock exam, so let's start... The last thing I have to say is that I agree with the girl when she says that we all have an inner child, even some people says the otherwise. - Jj

Work conditions now... Aren't we far from the 19th?

It's a cold fact that the cost of living has change along the years; specially If we talk about now and two centuries ago. In this essay I'll be mentioning the differences ans similarities that exist between the working conditions here in Mexico and the working conditions back in the 19th, particularly at the Industrial Revolution (I.R.) First at all, it's hard to place both scenarios in one debate; just for the simple reason that they ain't in the same era or even geographic location. Now ''almost'' everybody in the world enjoy of many rights and benefits; but back in the day the situation wasn't that good. In the 19th Great Britain (and almost all Europe) was passing by a transition, the countryside was being replaced by the city -like nowadays- just to be able to work (and gain ''more'' money) in some of the plenty factories that started to function in that time. As I said in the first lines of the last paragraph, both ...
